Moissanite is a real gemstone, it's just not a diamond. Originally discovered in a meteor crater, moissanite is now created in labs and is one of the hardest, most brilliant stones on earth. It has more fire and sparkle than a diamond and is completely genuine in its own right. At Zen Moissanite, we never describe it as a "fake" anything; it's a distinct, stunning stone with its own identity.

They're two different stones. A lab-grown diamond is chemically identical to a mined diamond, same crystal structure, same hardness, same grading standards. Moissanite is a different gemstone entirely, made of silicon carbide, and tends to have more colourful sparkle (called "fire"). Lab diamonds typically carry a higher price point; moissanite offers exceptional brilliance at a lower cost. We offer both, and we're happy to walk you through which makes more sense for your priorities.

Most of our custom rings are ready in 8 weeks from the order date although a faster production timeline is available as well (can be selected as you make your ring selections). We'll keep you updated at every stage; from stone selection through to final polish, so you're never left wondering. If you have a proposal date in mind, let us know early and we'll make sure your timeline works.
